Hakka Chinese
When Chinese merchants migrated to India in the 18th century, little did they know that the cuisine they would develop would spread all across the subcontinent and now to New York City. The cuisine blended Chinese food with Indian flavors and became known as ‘Hakka Chinese’ – a pure Asian Fusion, and you can experience this at Sagar Chinese!
The Cuisine
We give the highest priority to sourcing quality ingredients from Halal and well-known vendors. With high inventory turnover, we ensure that every dish taste consistently fresh.
Start with the famous Chicken Lollipop and Thai soup, our most popular appetizers. While these are well known Hakka Chinese adaptations, the Chicken Wings, Wontons, Fried Fish Strips and Shrimp Balls will be more familiar and equally as delicious.
Main courses with Chicken, Beef, Prawns or Vegetables can be made with any combination of Chilli, Garlic or Manchurian sauces, with or without gravy to your liking.
The Chow Mein (stir fried noodles) with scallions, bamboo shoots, pea pods, green peppers, carrots can be served with any choice of meat or vegetables as a complete meal.
The rice or fried rice is made with the highest quality Basmati rice, imparted with the unique Hakka Chinese flavors.
Pair the umami flavors of the cuisine with our signature Mango Lassi, Strawberry Smoothie or a Pina Colada for a satisfying finish.
